AMATEUR GOLFERS SET TO “PLAY LIKE THE PROS”
Tournament Co-Host Victorious in Afternoon Shotgun
BARRINGTON, R.I. (June 19, 2017) – Eight amateur players from the CVS Health Charity Classic’s Pepsi Celebrity Pro-Am have qualified to move on to the 7th annual Propel Pro For A Day, and will tee it up on Monday among the tournament’s main field professional teams.
Rain couldn’t stop the morning shotgun as celebrities such as pitching legend Roger Clemens and retired NBA player Wally Szczerbiak teed off at the Rhode Island Country Club. Champions Tour professional Mike Hulbert’s group walked away victorious with a -17 on the 71 par course. Steve Goodyear, Brendan DeChellis, Peter Burns, and Jeff Prairie will be the morning Pro-Am group competing in the Propel Pro For A Day.
The afternoon shotgun saw clear skies and a new round of players and celebrities. Tournament co-host Billy Andrade’s group had an impressive finish in the afternoon with a -19 to win the afternoon shotgun. Andrade’s team of Tom Berchard, Jeff Kraft, Scott Baker, and Jeff Knudson will represent the afternoon shotgun in the Propel Pro For A Day Challenge on Monday.
On Monday, June 19 tournament activities begin at 8 a.m. with a putting clinic hosted by Morgan Pressel, Bill Haas and Jay Haas followed by the 8:45 a.m. opening ceremony. Professional pairings and tee-times are as follows:

9:42AM - Jon Curran, Paula Creamer, Mark O'Meara
9:54AM - Keegan Bradley, Brooke Henderson, Billy Andrade

10:30AM - Tony Finau, Gerina Piller, Bernhard Langer
The CVS Health Charity Classic, which has donated $20 million dollars to area non-profits since 1999, will again be honoring veterans by offering complimentary admission to Rhode Island Country Club for the golf tournament for all active, reserve and retired Military Service Members and their dependents. Veterans can simply present a valid Common Access Card or Retired Military Card at the gate. First responders and their families also receive free admission with a valid ID.
