Experience the best of Southern New England’s culinary scene June 21-22 at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center

WOONSOCKET, RI (March 15, 2018) – The CVS Health Charity Classic Event Series, entering its 20th year, will kick-off with the second annual Crave RI food festival on Thursday, June 21 and Friday, June 22 at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in the heart of Downtown Providence.

The two-day food festival shines a spotlight on the unique and enticing culinary scene that Rhode Island has become known for. Crave RI will host more than 100 local restaurants, over 150 beer and wine profiles and live demonstrations from notable local chefs, including Jennifer Behm-Lazzarini, co-owner of Red Fin Crudo + Kitchen. The event brings together local businesses, members of the community and families from across the state to enjoy great food and drink in Downtown Providence.

“A visit to Providence is a must for those who want to enjoy some of the best cuisine and entertainment in the state,” said Mayor Jorge O. Elorza. “We are excited to host the Crave RI food festival that will allow families to experience all that our acclaimed local restaurants and chefs have to offer. I invite folks from across New England to come dine and support charitable organizations that do invaluable community work.”

Notable participants returning to Crave RI this year include Matunuck Oyster Bar, Evelyn’s Drive-In, The Salted Slate, Red Fin Crudo + Kitchen, Narragansett Beer, Sam Adams, Newport Storm and Newport Vineyards. New participants to Crave RI this year include Tallulah’s Taqueria, Bayberry Beer Hall and Waffle.

“The mission of the CVS Health Charity Classic has always been to support local charities across our home state,” said Eileen Howard Boone, Tournament Chairwoman, CVS Health Charity Classic. “Crave RI, which was so well received by foodies and families alike, gives us another opportunity to accomplish that mission while celebrating the thriving food culture of Rhode Island.”

“The CVS Health Charity Classic has always done so much good for the community,” said Jennifer Behm-Lazzarini, winner of Master Chef, Season 2. “To see the event series grow and have CVS Health take an interest in the Rhode Island food culture is so meaningful to our industry. Crave RI is a great vehicle to spread the message and mission of the Charity Classic. It was a no-brainer to return as a participant for year two.”
